This Triumph MKIII GT6 is a well maintained, road legal, entry level historic competition car that is ready to race or be your Sunday drive!
Manufactured in 1972 this is the late MkIII model which benefits from a higher BHP engine, uprated suspension which in turn improves handling and is the interior is much more accommodating than the MKI and MkII model.
The exterior of this particular GT6 is in good order with no rust around the wheel arches, minimal rust on the boot and none on the bootlip or sills for 44 years old this classic has been very well looked after. The gloss black paintwork is also in good order, the brand new gloss black minilite wheels are a perfect match for the colour of this car.
The interior has been fitted with a pair of sporty leather seats that offer a great deal of support when entering corners at speed, a full set of TRS racing harness’s, a bolt in roll cage and fire extinguishers. Despite all these safety features and upgrades it still retains a classic feel, the original wood dashboard and large 15″ wooden steering wheel means that the classic feel of this car is not lost.
The engine is a the bigger more power of the 3 models they produced of the GT6, its a 2.0L 6 cylinder OHV that has been fitted with triple webbers, big cam and started by electronic ignition. It also has upgraded performance hoses, air cooling and braided fuel lines.
This vehicle was fortunate enough to be owned by enthusiasts, meaning that it received any parts that it needed regardless of cost, within the last 3 years this car has been tuned and tested on a rolling road 3 times, all with quite astonishing results. A new clutch and slave cylinder was fitted last year and since then has covered under 200 miles! the previous 6 years worth of MOT’s were passed with no advisories and the same is said for the emission testing.
To conclude, this is a very attractive, sporty, fastback coupe that everyman secretly wants to own.
