2018 BMW M760Li – 800 HP Monster

BMW’s V12 final send off.

The sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series consisted of the BMW G11 (normal version) and the BMW G12 (long wheel base) luxury saloons. Unveiled on the 10^th June 2015 at the BMW headquarters in Munich, and first official public appearance took place at the 2015 International Motor Show Germany and in production until 2022. What makes this vehicle so unique is the fact that this is last ever production V12 model to be created by BMW, and what better vehicle for the send-off of this glorious engine? This generation of the 7 Series was the first car line-up of BMW to be based on the CLAR platform, first introduced in the i models, namely the introduction of carbon-fibre-reinforced-polymer as structural chassis components.

Here we have a truly stunning and rare example of BMW’s flagship, M760Li X-Drive (G12), tricked out to the nth degree, for sale with Ramsport on the behalf of our client.

Finished in Carbon Black Metallic, with complimenting Black Exclusive Nappa Leather interior, 20” diamond cut alloy wheels and the M styling fitted with the famous kidney grilles that predate the larger version fitted to the later models.

When this particular vehicle was put into production in 2018, with its impressive optional extra list the RRP was an eye-watering £142,105. In many ways, the heavyweight tech and last-of-line status makes it something of a bargain right out of the box – now, just five years later, it’s a positive steal.

Currently showing 42,576 miles, owned since only 5 miles on the clock, this V12 bi-turbo boasts full BMW history and is now ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

Engine, Performance and Upgrades

BMW has a long history with the V12 engine, introducing its first M70 unit in 1987 and going through phases of offerings in both the 7 and 8 series models. It, of course, also laid the groundwork for the iconic S70/2 that found a home in the McLaren F1.

This vehicle is equipped with the N74 6.6 litre V12 Twin-turbocharged, with 48 valves. making a total of 610hp and 590 lb-ft of torque from standard, this engine was also fitted to the Rolls Royce; Ghost, Phantom, Cullinan and Dawn.

However, this is no standard model!

Following the purchase of this vehicle DMS Automotive worked their magic with an ECU upgrade, pushing this vehicle into near warp-speed performance. Now running increased figures of 800hp with engine torque limited to 1,000nm the engine is capable of producing nearer the 1,200nm mark. Making a satisfying growl from the M Sport Exhaust. Combined with the ECU upgrades the speed limiter was removed making this BMW capable of speeds of 200+ mph! (This upgrade can be removed and returned to the standard spec if required.)

The engine is complemented by the proven 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, sending power through all four wheels resulting in 0-60 times of sub 3 seconds. This is the same eight-speed auto you get on regular 7 Series, and it handles the power/torque with ease.

Rapid directional changes are made possible not only by the proactive electronic anti-rollbars, intelligent all-wheel drive system and self-levelling air suspension, but also by a trick steering system; its rack’s quicker than lesser 7’s, with manoeuvrability improved further by rear-wheel steering, negating the likelihood of mid-corner understeer. It’s not ‘fun’ to drive down a winding road in the traditional sense, but there’s certainly something to be said about having so many readily and easily deployable horse-powers beneath your right foot.

Exterior

For a performance saloon, you’d have wanted it to look the part, hence the M aerodynamic package, with gaping grilles in the deeper front apron, and discreet boot spoiler to complete the exterior styling.

This M760Li not only sounds and goes the part, the exterior of the vehicle sure looks the part too. Presented in fantastic condition throughout, with only minor blemishes from road use, its presented in Carbon Black Metallic with matt grey accents, Soft close doors and BMW laser lights for improved visibility. This vehicle stands from bumper to bumper at 5.3 meters and sits on 20” double spoke diamond cut alloy wheels specific to the M760Li.

Interior

The interior of the vehicle is really where the luxury status comes into its element. Fitted with the Black Exclusive Nappa Leather, that not only heats in the cold weather, it also cools in the heat whilst offering the driver and passengers front and rear comfort and added pleasure with the massage functions. Uprated Bower and Wilkins sound system provides near perfect acoustics, with Apple Car play to access music straight from your mobile device, Rear seat entertainment to include seatback touch screens, privacy blinds and the sky lounge panoramic roof. It’s not just a place for travel it’s a location of entertainment and relaxation with the added bonus of transporting you from location to location.

For the Driver, you are greeted with a wall of ceramic finished controls and a full digital cockpit, with multiple options/functions to change and enhance the overall driving experience, a head up displays to assist with monitoring the road speeds, and refreshing fresh air system with added perfume to further heighten the experience. Climate control glass to further add to the overall comfort and enjoyment. This model is even fitted with BMW’s Advance Parking Package, and 360˚ fisheye cameras for ease of manoeuvrability into tight garages and parking spaced.
