Sporting the extremely desirable Flying Spur style of coachwork by H.J.Mulliner; the most highly regarded of the Bentley Coachbuilders, and presented in a beautiful colour scheme of dark metallic blue with red pinstriping over a rich red interior, the condition of this very rare Bentley is truly wonderful.
Surely one of the most attractive of a very rare iteration of the S2 platform; this Bentley is one of only 71 right hand drive cars from a total of just 125 examples to have been bestowed with this style of coachwork.Read more
The car is accompanied by an extensive history file going back as far as 1976 which details it previous owners as a Mr Peter King and the Rt Hon Michael W L Morris (Lord Naseby), an extensive service history and all major works carried out. Though there is no evidence of the car undergoing any restorative work, It does include invoices for work carried out by JK Engineering for a complete engine rebuild, a new stainless steel exhaust system and a brake overhaul in addition to renewed wiring, seals, plugs and a full service; all completed between 2004 and 2008.
Also documented is £14,000 of work performed on the car by Alan Carrington, which includes a new steering ram kit, application of the cars current dark-blue paint and some expert interior refurbishment including interior woodwork, a new headlining, a full retrimming of the boot and fitment of seatbelts. The addition of modern conveniences including the seat-belts, radio, electric windows and a modern ignition system, all of which are also documented, are the only apparent deviation from the cars original specification.
Also included with the documentation are copies of the cars original specification, delivery paperwork, V5C documents both old and new, MOT certificates, expired tax discs, a parts list and a Hardback copy of the Bentley Continental S2 booklet.
